Welcome information The European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2014 is funded by the European Commission under the H2FC project and coordinated by the University of Ulster. The 2014 Technical School will be held at the Sentido hotels in Rethymnon, Crete (Greece) on 23-27 June, 2014. Check-in is not earlier than 15:00 on the 22nd of June 2014. Check-out is strictly not later than 12:00 on Saturday the 28th of June 2014. Please take these check-in and check-out times into account when making your travel arrangements. The sessions at the European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2014 address the themes of hydrogen safety, storage and fuel cells. The programme will include topical lectures, a workshop on instrumentation and transnational access, presentations on state-of-the-art research and discussions on modelling for hydrogen safety, storage and fuel cells.
Accompanying persons
The organising committee has reserved accommodation on a single occupancy basis please advise us if you would like to arrange double occupancy or additional overnights. Arrangements for accompanying persons may be made via the organising committee, rates for a person accompanying an attendee who pays the full fee are 475 Euro if staying at the Aegean Pearl and 465 Euro if staying at the Pearl Beach.
Transport to Crete The Sentido hotels are located in Rethymon on the Rethymnon which is located between the airports of Chania and Heraklion. The hotels are approximately 1 hour driving from each airport. However, flights are more likely to be cheaper to Heraklion, the airport is Nikos Kazantzakis (Airport Code: HER). Heraklion has 8-10 direct flights per day from Athens (ATH) and the duration of the flight is 35 minutes. 2-4 direct flights daily are from Thessaloniki (SKG). As the school is at the start of the summer vacation period there are also frequent charter flights from most major European cities. We recommend checking both scheduled and chartered options to both Chania and Heraklion.
Transport to the School Venue The Venue is approximately a 1 hour drive from the airport. Local busses are available depending on the day of the week. Private transfer via taxi or mini coach is to be booked through Panhellas. We will endeavour to group attendees together to share the cost provided they request this and contact Panhellas sufficiently far in advance – Rate: Heraklion airport to Rethymnon Euro 90,00 per taxi per way. Rate: Chania airport to Rethymnon Euro 80,00 per taxi per way. Please contact Mrs Manuela Drape Stathoglou This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
